Iain Barr Fly Fishing - Elinor Trout Fishery
Elinor Trout Fishery is Northamptonshire's premier medium-sized trout fishery: It has 50 acres of spring-fed, gin-clear limestone water. Because of the clear alkaline water, natural food is in abundance and as a result our trout are fat and healthy!
Fly-fishing for Brown & Rainbow trout, in idyllic surroundings, from February 23rd - December 31st 2008. There is 1.5 miles of bank fishing, and a fleet of 15 modern boats. Float-tubers are welcome.
Our rods tend to keep only a few fish to eat, and this has resulted in a large number of grown-on fish. In 2007 the Elinor rod average was 2.4 trout killed per angler, however taking into account fish released the average was an excellent 4.8
Best fish in 2007 were a Rainbow of 16lb 15oz and a Brown of 10lb 3oz.
